Once upon a time, BSmooth started as really clumsy workaround. Since then the program has transmoglified in a terrain modeler with a wealth of modelers, Illustrator import, DXF export and other very powerful options.
A strongly geographic/GIS related BSmooth Pro may be relased in 1998. It's working title is BSmooth Pro and yes: it will be relativly expensive because this is really a small niche (of course you get an upgrade offer from your existing licence, too).
Anyway, you don't have to worry: BSmooth II is the main product and it will stay the fun product!
BSmooth Demo
• Terrains up to 128 x 128
• half of the terrain reduced to 256 levels to show you the difference it makes
• Isolines restricted to 10 polygons
BSmooth 3 (38$)
• Lattices and Terrains up to 1024 x 1024
• DEMs at full vertical resolution
• Isolines restricted to 10 layers
BSmooth Pro (198$) - Release planned for Mid 1998
• Unlimited Isolines
• reprojection of spatial data and DEMs
• featuring mapping of spatial data to imagemaps
BSmooth Pro is a geographical oriented package. If you have a certain problem in this range, please contact me at busse@kagi.com!
A Windows port of BSmooth is currenly in work.
Any Upgrades will be available for the price difference or less. Updates are free.
